Established in 2009 in Lagos - Nigeria, GoMad Multimedia began operations as an audio-visual content creator.
In the first decade of its existence GoMad produced and distributed over a dozen motion pictures, including twelve feature-length movies, one documentary, one reality TV show and one music video.
GoMad has equally either completed or contributed to the concept architecture of several other productions for some of Africa's biggest production companies, like Ultima Limited (franchise holders for "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" in Nigeria) and AlphaVision Multimedia (makers of shows like SoundCity).
Content created by GoMad Multimedia have graced the screens of millions of viewers worldwide, via platforms like Africa's largest cable TV network, MNET Multichoice, as well as several VOD platforms.
GoMad created content that was used as in-flight entertainment by Emirates Airlines; and in 2006, during the Ebola pandemic in Africa, the company was commissioned by the United Nations' World Health Organization to create a training video/documentary about the virus.
GoMad's connections within the entertainment industry reaches across continents, from the world's third largest movie industry - Nigeria's Nollywood - to the second largest movie industry in the world - India's Bollywood (fromwhere GoMad obtained some of the funding for its maiden production), and even as far as Europe, where the company's CEO, Ugo Maduka, got some of his professional training, through organizations such as Raindance UK (organizers of one of the world's leading film festival).
ITGoMad has equally been a key player in Africa's tech industry. In 2002 the company's CEO launched allnigerianmodels.com, with the slogan "Access, with dignity", to help combat the scourge of sexual harassment in the modelling industry.
The platform served as an online directory for all fashion and TV models in Nigeria, that could be used by prospective advertizers to locate and contract models virtually. There are celebrities in the Nigerian entertainment industry today that first appeared on that platform.
Today, headquartered on the West Coast of the US, between Redmond - Washington (home of Microsoft) and Silicon Valley - California, GoMad Multimedia is boldly stepping into the American tech space, with startups such as THEC.
THEC - TruckShare is an app quite similar to Uber or Lyft, with the sole distinction being in the type of vehicles that users can hail; semi trucks, shotgun trucks and Sprinter vans, instead of cars. The platform, which is currently undergoing beta testing, completely eliminates the need for brokers and connects shippers directly to carriers within the freight-hauling industry, thus putting more money into the pockets of owner-operators, allowing for ease of tracking and accounting for shippers, and eliminating guess-work in the calculation of shipping costs, even for private individuals and families simply looking to move houses.
GoMad's aim is to create affordable technology that solves real problems, to create audio-visual content that captivates and entertains whilst informing and advertising; and our target market is small and medium-scale enterprises.
